History:
This is based on a corset found in the Kyoto Costume Institute. It is a precursor to the modern bra, designed to support the bust and keep the line on the body flowing to complement the fashion of the day. It is very easy and comfortable to wear and wraps around like a ballet cardigan.
Fabric and Materials:
The corset is made of white coutil cotton as standard, (please note the first two pictures show the corset in silk) ensuring strength and comfort, edged in matching cotton binding.
The original boning was whalebone or reed, but synthetic whalebone is used now.
A great deal of research is undertaken to ensure the materials are as authentic as possible. Perfect for reenactments or weddings!

Measurements
All Corsets are made to measure so please take care when measuring.
All measurements are in inches.
Overbust - Around the back and over the fullest part of the bust. It is advisable to wear a bra when taking this measurement.
Underbust - Around the back and ribs directly under the bust.
PLEASE take care when measuring, as we cannot refund bespoke items.
