1. Promotional terms only apply in the period stated for the promotion. Charges for delivery are not included in the stated product price - see Delivery for details of applicable charges.
2. All goods are subject to availability.
3. Goods exported outside of the European Union do not carry any purchase tax (See Customs and Import Duties Information). Goods sold inside the European Union include VAT at the appropriate rate.
4. No warranties or representations are made about any goods other than as expressly contained in this Website. To the extent permissible by law all implied terms, whether by statute or otherwise, are excluded.
5. The Jane Austen Centre's liability for any injury (other than death or personal injury), damage or loss, in particular consequential loss, arising from the use of any goods purchased via this Website, or from the transaction itself, are hereby excluded. Any injury, damage or loss arising directly from the negligence of The Jane Austen Centre or any of its agents will be limited to a refund of the value of the goods purchased, together with any delivery charges paid.
6. While all reasonable care is taken to protect the confidentiality of your credit card details, The Jane Austen Centre cannot be liable if, through no fault of its own, these details are intercepted by and used by third parties.
7. English law applies to this contract.
8. Your statutory rights are not affected.
9. Our DVDs clearly state that they will not play in USA, Canada, and Japan. They will not be refunded for this reason.
10. Our spencers and dresses are HANDMADE, therefore, we cannot issue refunds. Customers are advised to CHECK THIER SIZE before ordering, as they cannot be returned or exchanged. Sizes are clearly stated on the page.
Customs and Import Duties Information
We are currently able to ship all items advertised to international addresses. Additionally, there is a good likelihood that your packages will be subject to the customs fees and import duties of your destination country. You may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the package reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, when ordering from Janeausten.co.uk, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.
Customs forms for all international packages list the value of your order's contents by product type. If the order is a gift, the package is marked "Gift," but the cost of the items is still stated on the customs form. Currently, we are not able to describe the contents in any other way. |
| | Returns Policy Our returns centre will refund or exchange any merchandise that is returned in its original packaging within 30 days from the date of purchase, providing there is a reasonable explanation. Merchandise that was received damaged may also be returned within 30 days. A receipt is required for all refunds and exchanges, and we cannot accept merchandise from other vendors.
WE WILL NOT REFUND DVDS IF THEY ARE THE WRONG REGION, SO PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY ARE COMPATIBLE BEFORE YOU BUY.
WE WILL NOT REFUND SPENCERS OR DRESSES IF THE WRONG SIZE. SIZES ARE CLEARLY GIVEN ON SITE. ITEMS ARE ALL HANDMADE AND THEREFORE TIME CONSUMING SO WE CANNOT OFFER REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES.
How to Return Gift Items
To return packaged or damaged merchandise, indicate the reason for return on the invoice, or a copy of the invoice, that came with your order. Include the invoice, or invoice copy, with the merchandise, and wrap everything securely. Ship the merchandise to the address on the front of the slip. For added protection, we suggest you insure the return shipment or send it via a trackable express courier service.
If you have lost your invoice, please record your order number (your order number was included in the order confirmation e-mail message we sent you) on a separate piece of paper and ship the merchandise to the following address:

Refund Information
All refunds will be issued within twenty days of return receipt. A customer service representative will confirm the refund date and amount via e-mail.
